The second meeting of local organizing committee of ICSDM 2011 & BJ-IWGIS 2011 was held on July 2, 2010
The second meeting of local organizing committee of ICSDM 2011 & BJ-IWGIS 2011 was held at Science Building, Fuzhou University on July 2, 2010. The chair of local organizing Committee, Prof. Chen chongcheng summarized the already completed work, and arranged some important affairs to be done in forthcoming months.
1) Completed work
1. Concise the conference name, contact the President, the steering committee and keynote speakers.
2. Establish the main content of the conference website (registered domain name and column contents), print leaflets.
3. Contact the organizers (IEEE and National Science Foundation of China (NSFC), of which the funding application has been reported to the Education Department).
4. Connect the undertaking organizations (internal and external organizations, the four IGU and CGS Commissions).
5. Settle the IEEE publication affairs (contact with the IEEE Beijing branch, already included into IEEE 2011 conference series).
6. Search for sponsors (Beijing SuperMap) (planned to hold together with the 2011 SuperMap Domestic GIS Innovation Conference).
7. Start to contact with the author groups (Remote Sensing Group, Data Mining Group, 3D Group and WebGIS group have partially completed).
8. Locate the conference venue (Yishan Hotel).
2) Future work (before next March)
1. Set up the Secretariat: the Organizing Committee members will communicate the progress timely (establish groups, reduce meetings),
release the progress information in time, supplement and perfect the expert information of keynote speakers.
2. Initiate collecting papers and further authors, at least 10,000 people (after collection by each group, the uniform invitations will be sent by the Secretariat together).
3. Initiate the submission system of conference abstracts and full papers.
4. Conduct the business affairs about conference venue.
5. Local tour affairs: Add more information about Mount Wuyi to the conference website.
6. Make further contact with NSFC, SuperMap, IEEE, and other organizations.
7. Update the websites of conference, SIRC and each laboratory timely to maximize the promotion.
